In this brief daily devotional, the speaker shares a personal experience of a lingering lower‑back injury to illustrate how people often conceal physical or emotional pain beneath a calm exterior. He asks listeners to consider “what are you sitting in?”—the hidden burdens they or others may be carrying. He then commits to shifting his own mindset toward grace and gratitude, hoping his presence can become a blessing for those he meets during his travel from Nashville to Charleston. The message encourages self‑reflection, empathy, and an intentional, supportive attitude toward others.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your Moment of Yes for Monday, October 20th. Hello from Nashville, Tennessee. Layover on my way to Charleston for the day, back home tomorrow night. Good morning. So your Moment of Yes for today is, what are you sitting in? What are you sitting in? And I say this because I tweaked my lower back last week. And it just hasn't gotten better. It's super uncomfortable, painful, very painful. Yet if you were to come across me on my travels, you wouldn't know that it's very painful. And right, it'll be fine. I will be fine. But it's super uncomfortable, even just kind of finding a comfortable spot. You know, on the flight, it was really difficult. And then getting up, it's like knives in the spine. And so, but again, if you were to see me in the airport and doing my thing, you would be like, oh, there's nothing wrong with this guy yet. If someone were to come up and bump me, or if I were to sneeze, it would be painful. And so it got me thinking, not poor me, But again, how many people do we come across on a day-to-day basis and we just don't know what they are, what they're sitting in? What are they sitting in? What, what, I mean, sure, there could be physical pain that they're dealing with, but what emotional pain? What, what, what things are going on in their life that they might be sitting with that we have no idea? They look fine. And yet, if we just peel back the surface a little bit, there could be a lot of difficulty going on there. Clearly, we're surrounded by a ton of frustration and fear and uncertainty right now. So people are sitting in that, at least at a base level. But, you know, you go a few, you know, even a layer or two under that, and what are people really sitting in? All of that to say, it's just to me, as I go through my day today, I'm gonna try to shift into grace and for— I was gonna say grace and forgiveness, but grace and gratitude as a way to focus on the good, which I know will make me feel better. But how can I do that with just the people I come into contact with today as well? And so I don't know what they're sitting in, but there's a pretty good chance they're sitting in something. And so how I show up and the presence I bring hopefully can be a little bit of a blessing. So there you have it. That's your moment of yes for today. What are you sitting in and how might you be able to shift and to be a support for others? Have an awesome day, everybody. Bye.
