In this short motivational monologue, the speaker frames a daily decision for listeners: to have a good day, a great day, or a selfish day. A "good day" is defined as showing up and performing controllable actions and habits, regardless of outcomes. A "great day" adds favorable outcomes to those controllable actions. A "selfish day" occurs when one fails to show up for responsibilities, denying oneself and others the chance for positive results. The speaker encourages the audience to reflect on this choice as they head into the weekend, urging them to opt for a good or great day and avoid selfishness.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Friday, October 21st. And yeah, happy Friday, everyone. It's feeling very fallish, very autumnish for those of you not in Florida. Yeah, yeah. So your moment of yes for today, I was having a coaching session yesterday and the person I was working with is also a coach. And so he was telling me about his season and what's going on. And he said, I've asked my players, do you— and I love this, do you wanna have a good day, a great day, or a selfish day? And I was like, wait a second, hold on, say that again. Good, great, selfish. And I said, explain that to me a little bit more. What do you mean by that? And as we talked about it, I was like, I love that, right? So what is a good day? A good day is when we show up and we do the things that we can do, right? We, we, we, the behaviors, the actions, the habits, the commitments, right? We do what we're supposed to do. That's a good day. It doesn't mean the outcomes always match, you know, what we would like them to be, but we can't control that. But we do the things that we can control. That's a good day. What is a great day? A great day is when we do the things that we can control and the outcomes Right, work out in our favor. That's a great day, right? Because we controlled the controllables. That's a good day. Great day is control the controllables and things worked out. That's awesome. Well, what's a selfish day? Selfish day is when you didn't do the things that you needed to do. And it's not about the outcomes. It's about you just didn't show up, right? And when you don't show up, you don't give yourself the opportunity for things to fall in your favor. But also, When you don't show up, right, you also don't show up for the people who might be depending on you, right? Teammates, coworkers, family members, right? You just kind of like, ah, I don't feel like it today, I don't like, right? That's that selfish component where it's just about you. So as you move into Friday today and the weekend, ask yourself, do you want to have a good day, a great day, or a selfish day? Yeah, that's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome weekend, everybody.
