In this brief Monday morning video, the speaker delivers a motivational "moment of yes" to encourage viewers to start the week with a positive mindset. While driving to campus with his dog Holland, he observes the vivid fall colors along the River Road and notices how sunglasses dramatically enhance the visual experience. He uses this observation as a metaphor for mental "lenses"—the attitudes and frames we choose to wear—that can amplify the beauty and goodness in our lives. Reflecting on having lived in diverse places (Phoenix, Florida, Illinois), he emphasizes that beauty exists everywhere, but we must be willing to see it. He concludes with a call to action: put on the right mental lenses, amplify positivity for ourselves and others, and seize the week with enthusiasm.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Monday, October 21st. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I just got up super early today to take Holland. Holland stayed with us Saturday and Sunday, so I took him up to campus this morning, just about an hour drive to campus. And so, you know, driving along the River Road, the Old Mississippi, And looking up at the bluffs and the foliage, the color changing, it's just amazing. And I realized he wasn't as stunned as I was, although he was kind of sleeping a little bit. But then I realized like, oh, like the colors are popping even more because I had my sunglasses on, right? I had my sunglasses on and I took them off. I'm like, oh, that's nice. But then you put your glasses on, I'm like, oh. What a huge difference by just how they pop with the glasses. And so, of course, it had me thinking about, like, yeah, how interesting that as we go through our day, we're surrounded by beauty. And I think as I was driving on the River Road today, the thing that struck me was, like, you know, here I am in, like, Alton, Elsa, Illinois, and thinking of all the different places that I've lived and different places that I've been. And the reality is the sun comes up and there's beauty everywhere, right? Having been in Phoenix the last 2 weeks, like the beauty of the desert, going to Florida and the beauty of palm trees and the ocean and being in different spots, like there's beauty everywhere. But we have to be willing to see it. We have to be willing to look for it. And so, when we have the right sort of mental frames, the right mental glasses on that we're wearing, And we're actively looking for it, we're magnifying, we're amplifying it, it pops. And so as we start our week, your moment of yes, as the sun is coming right into my face to block the image, let's make sure that we are putting on the right lenses, the right frames to amplify the beauty and to amplify the goodness in our life. And to amplify it for others. All right, let's do it. It's Monday. Go get it. That's your moment of yes. Have a great week, everyone. Bye.
