In this short inspirational segment, the speaker recounts taking his nephew to a middle‑school cross‑country race where the boy, despite lacking desire, finishes last but completes the race. Afterward, the nephew receives a Lego set, prompting the speaker to draw a metaphor: building a Lego set bag‑by‑bag mirrors tackling large tasks or unwanted activities. The core message is to focus on one small step or "bag" at a time rather than the overwhelming whole, encouraging listeners to adopt this incremental approach in their own challenges. The talk ends with a call to embrace this "moment of yes" and have an awesome day.

Good morning. Here's your moment of yes for Thursday, October 24th. Um, so yesterday, uh, Hollister and I went to our nephew's cross-country race. He's a middle schooler, middle school cross-country. He doesn't want to run. He has no desire to run. Um, but sort of has to do an activity. And so, um, so he, he, he resists it. He battles it. He struggles with it. Um, he finished dead last by a long stretch. Um, but the cool thing is, is that he did it and he finished. And, um, afterwards, uh, Hollister gave him— he loves Legos, he's like engineer brain— and he was just so excited to get this Lego, um, set. And, uh, and so I was talking to him about it and I was like, hey, like You know, like running cross-country running. It's, it's, it's just, it's like putting Legos together, right? You don't put the whole set together at once. It takes kind of step by step, piece by piece, day by day. And he immediately goes, yeah. And he goes, also, they give them to you in separate bags. He goes, so all you have to do is put together one bag at a time. And I was like, oh, Halster looked at me, I was like, yeah, he gets it. It's amazing, right? That's what progress is. That's what steps are, especially when we're doing something big, especially when we're doing something that we don't want to do. It's piece by piece, step by step, bag by bag. It's not the whole 10,000 pieces at once. It's one piece at a time or one bag at a time, right? The bag is just, you know, Uh, a, a bigger part of the giant whole. And so just loved that wisdom coming from my, uh, middle school nephew yesterday. Whatever we're dealing with, let's take it piece by piece, step by step, and let's focus on what's the next bag look like that we need to finish before we move on to the next bag. That's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome day, everybody.
