In this brief motivational video, the speaker delivers a "Moment of Yes" for Monday, October 31st, encouraging viewers to prioritize presence over perfection. Citing a Joe Maddon quote—"Let's not be perfect, let's be present"—the speaker critiques the pursuit of perfection as a distraction and instead promotes continual improvement in the present moment. He reframes the common phrase "a work in progress" to "progress at work," emphasizing that real progress occurs when one is actively engaged—physically, mentally, or spiritually—in the work. The talk concludes with a call to action, asking viewers to consider what their work looks like today and to focus on that work as the source of progress, wishing everyone an awesome day.

What's up everyone? Here is your Moment of Yes for Monday, October 31st. Happy Halloween everyone. Here we go. Your Moment of Yes for today is, I can't remember if I was listening to an interview or reading a newsletter, whatever it is, right? All the information, it's all a blur. But they were talking about the idea of being a work in progress. And right when we think about living your yes, living a Moment of Yes, it's again, to quote Joe Maddon during his Cubs World Series run, Let's not be perfect, let's be present, right? It's not about perfection, it's about how present can we be. So this goal of always being perfect is a distraction in itself. But if we're always focused on how can I be better today, how can I be better in this moment and this moment and this moment. And so this idea of like, oh hey, I am a— you've heard people say, hey, I'm a work in progress. But when I was thinking about that phrase, I thought it actually works the other way around, which is instead of being a work in progress, I am progress at work, right? When am I making progress? I'm making progress when I'm actually doing the work, right? And doing the work, obviously that can be a physical thing, but it can also be, it can be a mental, it can be a spiritual thing. I can be doing the work by doing physically nothing, right? But when am I experiencing progress? I'm experiencing progress. When I am in the work. As long as we are in the work, we are experiencing progress. We are actually the object. We are the progress in action. So are we a work in progress? Yes. But really, our progress comes when we are in the work. So what does your work look like today? Monday, beginning of the week, setting as we transition from October into November. What does your work look like today? Focus on the work. There's your progress. Have an awesome day, everybody.
