In this personal vlog, the speaker opens by celebrating the 24th anniversary of his marriage to Hollister, expressing deep gratitude and love. He then announces a new Patreon patron, Isaac, highlighting his anti‑bullying work and artistic pursuits. The core of the segment recounts a recent car breakdown during a 2.5‑hour away soccer trip with his son Shepherd, detailing the logistical scramble (AAA, tow, calls) and the emotional cascade of frustration, anger, and helplessness. Using the incident as a teaching moment, he emphasizes the importance of being kind to oneself, managing emotions, and employing self‑care tools (breathing, walking, processing) especially amid ongoing pandemic challenges. He concludes by noting the car’s pending assessment, framing the experience as both damage and healing, and ends with a loving sign‑off to Hollister.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your Moment of Yes for Monday, October 5th. That's a date that I can't forget because today is Hollister and I's anniversary, year 24. Wow. We're one away from the big 2-5. So I want to start off first and foremost wishing Hollister a happy anniversary and how grateful I am for this marriage and for this relationship. And that I love you very much. Now the question is, do you actually see this video? Hmm, we'll see. So today, um, today is our anniversary day. And before I get to the moment of yes, one more quick announcement. We have a new Patreon patron, my good friend Isaac from Watson Lynn University. Just an amazing, amazing young man doing amazing things around anti-bullying. He's also a musician and artist who is just going to be killing it and already killing it as Mako shows up in the background to say hello. So welcome, Isaac, to the Live Yes And Patreon community, man. I really appreciate it. All right. The moment of yes for today is— and so Saturday I had to drive Shepherd up for a soccer game like 2.5 hours away. It's one of those annoying drives in the middle of the state, 2.5 hours away. You know, he played the game, we finished. You know, I know I've got this 2.5, 3-hour drive in front of me and went and got into the car and the car was stalled. It was a power steering issue. And my initial reaction is like, oh, bleep. 'Cause sadly, this is like the 3rd time I've been at an away trip where I've had car issues. And then, you know, my head is just scrambling. So if you got into my head, It's scrambling. I can't believe this is happening again. We're 3 hours from home. I can't have it towed home. How am I going to get home because I can't drive it? AAA, you know, it's going to take forever. It's raining outside. You know, like, ah, you know. And so today's A Moment of Yes is all about be kind to yourself because as this was happening on Saturday, I was filled with so much frustration and anger and discouragement, and at the same time, just trying to manage those emotions and stay effective and stay productive and stay clear-minded. What of everything that's going on? You know, I've got 3 or 4 calls that I'm juggling between AAA, the tow guy, A guy that I know that works on cars, coaches, rides to get home, Hollister. So all of this stuff is managing. It's raining on me. My phone battery's almost dead. I'm in a packed parking lot of soccer, you know, soccer fields. And it's— it was just so— just emotionally and mentally, it was this, you know, opportunity to just notice how I respond. And I noticed that frustration. It's a very, very sort of helpless feeling for me. And so I noticed That frustration. So as I'm going through the practical steps, I'm also wanting to just respond to this as best I can, and it's just so difficult. But that was— I mean, that was the classroom, and that was, that was the lesson. As I sit here today, I still— you know, the, the shop doesn't open until Monday morning, so I don't know what the damage is. And this is a car I've had for a month, and, you know, it's just— so I'm just being present with myself and being present with my feelings. And just being kind to myself at the same time, you know, because we all know that kind of things— it feels like things hit us in waves. And the last few days have been a few waves of like, oh, that was unexpected, that was unexpected, that was unexpected. Oh, by the way, we're still living in a pandemic. And so just noticing, just noticing it and having those tools in place for self-care, how to breathe, How to take a walk, you know, how to process in a way that just doesn't completely, you know, knock you down and knock you out. So be kind to yourself. I'm being kind to myself currently. And come Wednesday, I'll let you know the damage or the healing or the damage and the healing. They're usually one and the same thing. In fact, maybe that's what I'll call this one for today, the damage and the healing. That's it, guys. Have a great day. Love you, Hollister.
