In this motivational monologue titled “Moment of Yes” for Wednesday, September 14th, the speaker reflects on the ongoing Legacy Week, honoring the late coach Trevor Moad and acknowledging the anniversary of 9/11. He reframes legacy not as grand monuments but as the everyday impact one has on the most important people in one’s life. The speaker emphasizes the need to align one’s daily behavior with the person one aspires to be, identifying any gaps and committing to incremental adjustments. He uses a vivid metaphor of slugs leaving slime trails on a sidewalk to illustrate how consistent actions create a lasting “legacy trail.” The talk concludes with a reflective prompt, asking listeners to consider the impact they wish to have on their loved ones and how they are showing up today, encouraging immediate, intentional action.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Wednesday, September 14th. Yeah, I think it's September 14th. So on Limitless Minds this week, on Limitless Club Limitless, you can actually download the app, which is Club Limitless. I'm trying to get that sun off my chin. We've been doing Legacy Week. And so on Monday and Tuesday, I did 2 live chats with 2 other coaches. We talked about sort of legacy questions, and we're sort of— we're honoring Trevor Moad this week, who passed away a year ago this time. Obviously, it's anniversary of 9/11, and so we've been talking about legacy, legacy questions. And the idea around legacy is it's not about, you know, are they going to build statues about you and name buildings after you? Maybe they will. But when we think about legacy, legacy is what is the impact I want to have on the most important people in my life, right? When we think about what is the legacy you want to live, it's really what is the impact I want to have on the most important people in my life? And am I consistently showing up day in and day out to be that person? And is there a gap, right? If like the person I want to show up is here, but I'm consistently showing up here, well, We need to close that gap in between. And how we do that is just by adjusting and tweaking our behavior, doing what we need to do on a day-to-day basis just to improve that behavior so that we can actually show up and be consistently living that— the person that leaves the legacy you want. So, the way I like to think about it is it's like slugs on the sidewalk. Right? When you go running in Florida, sometimes the little slugs, they're on the sidewalk in front of you, and you actually see their slime trails before you get to the slugs because the slugs leave a slime trail. I like to think of the slime trail as your legacy. Everything, how we show up day in and day out, is like that slime trail. And, and we kind of— our behavior kind of dictates, right, the impact, how people are going to remember us. Not for the big and the small. You know, it's, it's how we consistently show up day in and day out, right? So the question for you today is, what is the impact you want to have on the most important people in your life, and how are you showing up today? That's your moment of yes. Have a great day, everybody.
