AMOY: Action - NOT Perfection!

Stop waiting to be perfect before you start. The speaker argues that action beats preparation, mistakes teach you faster than planning, and the only way to improve is to begin now, even badly, and learn as you go.

Good morning everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes from one of our newest locations for A Moment of Yes. So this should be a familiar shot. Your Moment of Yes for today is, is to be careful. To be careful that the reason you're not doing something is because you don't know enough yet, or you haven't figured out, you haven't strategized, you're not, you're not good enough. You're not good enough at it yet to even try or even start. I think that's something that we all get trapped in from time to time. Some people call it a perfectionist mentality or thinking that we have to be able to learn more before we can do. So this idea of perfection before action, and when I mean perfection, almost sort of intellectual perfection, feeling like mentally I need to feel Perfect about it before I can move forward. And I think that stops a lot of us from working on some things that we enjoy and we're passionate about because we don't want to look dumb when we do it. That makes sense. But the reality is that perfection comes with doing, and perfection comes with screwing up, and perfection comes with going, holy cow, I don't want to do that again. And instead of thinking through, this is what it should look like. So don't mistake perfection with action. Action will lead to perfection. And yes, it doesn't mean you want to just jump out and try everything without having thought any of it through. But as soon as you get to a point where you're feeling like the best thing to do at this point is just try it, that's the point of action. So try it. Resistance, fear, Fear, whatever you want to call it, is going to make you stop and think about it and be responsible and be a perfectionist before doing. But the learning curve increases drastically when you just start doing. Figure it out. Learn, adapt, make mistakes. Learn, adapt, make mistakes. And you'll start to get really good really quickly. So notice your fear, notice your doubts, notice anything taking you away from your wholeness and your perfection. Nip that in the bud and then give it a try. That's your moment of yes for today, everyone. Have a wonderful day. Have a wonderful day.
