We consume information and stimuli all day but rarely release it. Without deliberate practices like meditation or reflection, we become overloaded. The speaker uses a coffee-and-restroom analogy to argue that balanced intake and release is essential for mental and emotional health.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes. Today, I'm going to get really personal. Too much information, I know. But every morning when I get up, I tend to go to Panera or Starbucks. I get some coffee, maybe some iced tea, some water. And by the time I get to work, I'm pretty filled up, if you know what I mean. And sometimes I'm like barely making it to the restroom. And then I release. I release everything that I'm filled up with. And it feels so good. Feels really good. And you're probably wondering to yourself, what in the heck does this have to do with the moment of yes? Well, the point is, is that we spend most of our day, if not most of our lives, consuming, taking in information, taking in— we're constantly acquiring things. And the beauty of meditation or dictation or listening or prayer is that when you use it as a releasing tool, is to release everything that you basically are taking on either mentally, physically. And we take all of this information on, all of the stimulus on every day. We're constantly, constantly taking on information. But what is your routine? What is your process for releasing? And when we release, we let go. When we release, We depressurize. We we we allow ourselves to sort of decompress everything that we're taking on, and unless we have that balance of taking things in and releasing, it's it's breathing, right? Take a deep breath in, exhale out. But a lot of times we take a deep breath in, and we try to take more in, and we try to take more in until eventually we get to our breaking point. So let's not break. Let's be in this constant routine of taking in. And releasing, taking in and releasing. And if you need my bathroom example as an analogy, you can use it, or you can just find a routine or something that we do on a daily basis that allows you to take in and release. Sorry about that, guys. That's your moment of yes for today. Have a wonderful day.
