AMOY: Are You Ready?

A speaker uses a firefighter metaphor to argue that success is about daily preparation, not waiting for the right moment. Most of the time you're ready and waiting. When the alarm rings, you answer yes.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes. Your moment of yes for today is, are you ready? That's right. Are you ready when the phone calls? Are you ready when the moment arises? And I'm thinking about that today because I've spent a lot of my life, especially the last few years, doing daily commitments, being disciplined, And really thinking about my dreams, my goals, wondering would I ever have the opportunity? Is that big sort of break, is that big cool opportunity going to come my way? And just really never knowing in what way, in what form that's going to show up. And the hard part is when you don't know, do you still put the effort and the time and the discipline into continuing to work On the things that are important to you, that you're passionate about? Do you put that time in even though you don't know when the phone is gonna ring, when that opportunity is gonna come? And I love to think about it like a fireman's mentality. You know, firemen, for the most part, they spend their time waiting and waiting and waiting. A lot of sitting around, a lot of idle time, but they know when that phone rings, when that alarm goes off, they are ready, they're prepared. They're ready to take advantage of the opportunity. They're ready to respond to the call. So, but the majority of their time is waiting, preparing, waiting, preparing, getting better, being disciplined, staying committed to what is going to prepare you when that phone rings, when that alarm goes off. So your moment of yes for today is, are you prepared? What are you prepared for? Are you taking the time each day to do the thing that you love, to work at it, to be disciplined, Because when that phone rings, will you be ready? That's your moment of yes for today. Have a wonderful day.
