In this brief motivational monologue, the speaker delivers a "moment of yes" centered on forgiveness and the practice of giving others the benefit of the doubt. He explains that the phrase actually reflects the listener’s own doubts and fears; by recognizing these internal barriers, one can consciously choose to extend openness and opportunity to others despite personal reservations. The talk encourages listeners to own their doubts, set them aside, and allow others the space to grow or act positively, framing this choice as an empowering daily affirmation.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your moment of yes for today. Happy Thursday to you. Your moment of yes for today is, as I was sitting here listening this morning, the idea of forgiveness and just sort of like doing your best despite sort of reservations and things like that. The idea came to me of just giving someone or something the benefit of the doubt. And That the phrase benefit of the doubt hit me this morning because I'm like, that's, that's, that's an idea. It's an expression I've used my whole life. But when you think about it, giving someone the benefit of the doubt— and whose doubt are we really talking about? We're talking about your doubt. So despite the fact that you've got doubts, you've got fear, you've got reservations, you're going to give the other person at least the benefit Of at least being open to growth or progress or showing up in a positive way. So despite your own fears that you have, well, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm going to give them the benefit of my doubt. So I'm not going to let my doubt and my shortcomings get in the way. So that's your moment of yes for today, is to notice whatever fears, whatever doubts Whatever reservations you might have about a person or a situation, can you still give them the benefit, give them the opportunity to overcome your own doubts of the situation? Which really makes you own it. It makes you own it that the doubts that you have are your doubts, the fears that you have are your fears. And so not to let that— excuse me— get in the way of what someone else or something might be able to do. So get your own doubts out of the way. So benefit of the doubt, that's your moment of yes for today, everyone. Have a wonderful day.
