Body-swap movies like Freaky Friday and The Change-Up last because they show empathy: walking in someone else's shoes. The speaker offers a practical exercise to practice understanding someone else's perspective without trying to fix them.

Hey everyone, here is your moment of yes for today. Have you ever wondered why we've done the story like Freaky Friday, The Change-Up, how many times that storyline has been done in movies? Yet we continually make that story over and over again. Every year there's a new movie coming out that basically does that storyline over again of switching places with someone, whether it's Freaky Friday, The Change-Up, of switching bodies, of going back in time into a younger body. We've done this storyline over and over again. And what are we really calling for with this story, with this theme that everyone relates to? And I really think it's the idea of empathy, of walking in someone's shoes. And I think it's such an important theme. It's because so often we want people to act differently. We want people to act more of how we want them to act. And then we get frustrated when they show up and they don't behave or act the way that we want them to act. And I think what these movies bring out is when we actually stop and pause and look at things from their perspective, walk in their shoes if you will, and see and feel and experience life the way they experience it with their background, with just how life comes at them, we get a new appreciation, a new respect, new compassion and love for Or what they're going through, which might explain how they continue to show up in a way that maybe we don't like from our perspective. So today, your moment of yes, express a little empathy. Think about a person or a situation that you would like to change or be different, and can you just pause and take a moment and experience and try to see things from their perspective today without judgment, without trying to change? That's your moment of yes for today. Have a wonderful day, everyone. Thank you, Travis.
