AMOY: It's Not a Race!

Life isn't a race because your journey is incomparable to anyone else's. Sports and school teach us to compete on scores and rankings, but that mindset doesn't fit real life, where there's no actual opponent. Focus on your own purpose and authenticity instead.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for today. I clearly love sports. Love sports. In sports, you have a winner, you have a loser. The scoreboard kind of determines things from that regard. But if you look closely, if you look really closely into, into most aspects of our life, we've kind of turned every part of our life into a competition, into a race, you know. We call it the rat race because apparently we're competing against our peers or other people around us. School kind of establishes that same mindset where instead of seeing education as an individual learning experience, I'm comparing myself to my test scores and my GPA and this award and that award and getting into this school. Everything becomes very, very competitive, yet it doesn't take long once you get out of school and once you find yourself in the job market where you're competing against other people It doesn't take long before you realize, wow, this really isn't a race. I don't really care about someone else's path or their speed or how long it's taking them to get this. Yet when we've been conditioned in that mindset for our whole life, it's tough to shift out of it. But the more you can do that on a daily basis to remind yourself that your life is not a race, living your purpose, living your highest calling, your expression It's not a race. Who could you possibly be racing? You know, I saw a quote the other day that says, until we have human cloning, there is no competition. There is no one else like you on your path, on your journey that you could possibly be competing with because no one's story, no one's unique authenticity is like yours. So someone else's path, the same age, the same look, whatever, still you're not competing with them. You are striving each day to live your yes, your purpose, your authenticity to the best that you can in that day, in that moment. Who are you possibly racing with? No one. So that's your Moment of Yes for today, everyone. Enjoy the perfection that is you and your journey right now. Have a great day.
