AMOY: Lean In!

Leaning forward in conversations signals you're actually interested. Checking your phone, crossing your arms, or leaning back says the opposite. Use your body to show you care.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for today. Happy Wednesday, right? Hump day. That's right. Happy hump day to you guys. So this week, I've been teaching a lot of body language, some basic body language principles, and how we interact, how we communicate with other people. And obviously, a big part of living your yes is is your interaction and. And how you show up when you work with other people, and obviously the kind of thoughts that you're carrying around, how present you are, has a big part of that. And that tends to be expressed and reflected in in our body language. Our body language says a lot about what we're thinking about or how we feel. Sometimes that's intentional; other times it's it's not. For example, in every moment of yes, I am leaning forward, right? I'm leaning forward. I am. I'm so interested in what I have to say that I'm leaning forward. I'm so interested and passionate about these ideas that I'm leaning into the camera. I lean forward. It's not something that I consciously do, but I recognize that I do that. Compared to if I did my moment of yes like this, it probably wouldn't be as effective. So our moment of yes for today. Right? The lean in. All right, when someone leans in and we're talking, we're like, oh wow, they really want to hear what I have to say. If someone's checking their watch, right, not so much. And so I encourage you, I encourage you today as your moment of yes, is to mentally and physically, as you're in interactions with people today, to actually lean in. Lean in with your heart and literally lean in with your body. Show them that you're curious. Show them that you care. Show them that you're interested. It's those little things that send big messages. Instead of checking a watch, checking your phone, crossing your arms and leaning back, lean in, be curious, be interested in what they have to say. That's your moment of yes for today. Have a good one.
