Travis Thomas uses Luke Skywalker's faith in his father's redemption as a lesson in trusting your own conviction. Even when mentors like Obi-Wan and Yoda said no, Luke said yes. Follow that inner voice over what spouses, parents, or anyone else tells you to do.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your moment of yes for today. Holland was just out here asking me how to spell Death Star. You could say that Holland and Shepherd have re-engaged with their passion for Star Wars. So in the last week and a half, we've watched episodes 4, 5, and 6 twice each. Star Wars is definitely back in the house. May the Force be with you. Your moment of yes for today is Star Wars inspired. And so having to watch— actually, let's be honest, I enjoy it. But, but, but watching those 3, um, episodes 4, 5, and 6 2 times again, uh, after, after having seen them many times, one idea really stood out this time. That, that really hasn't stood out before. And that is Luke's conviction, even when his 2 mentors, probably the 2 wisest people in the galaxy, Obi-Wan and Yoda, his 2 Jedi mentors, tell him what not to do. They tell him that his father cannot be turned back to good, that That it's just not possible. But that following his yes, following his purpose, Luke feels that there is still good in his father. And despite what everyone is telling him, including the 2 most wise people in the galaxy, tell him it's not possible, he stays with it. And ultimately, yes, it is his love. And compassion and faith in his father that eventually gets it done in the end, right? It's Star Wars, I get it, hokey. But for you, for living your yes, living your purpose, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone else is saying— a spouse, a parent, a spiritual mentor. It doesn't matter what anyone else is saying. Definitely doesn't matter what I'm saying. Doesn't matter what anyone else is saying. What you have to follow and what you have to listen to is that peace, that grace, that voice inside of you that speaks to you in a way that is so powerful beyond what anyone else's advice can ever be. That is living your yes and listening to your yes. And that is your moment of yes for today. May the yes be with you. Have a great day. Thank you, Travis.
