AMOY: No More Cement

A speaker uses two sunset photos taken minutes apart, where the light completely changed, to argue we should stop making rigid judgments about people. We let nature transform constantly. Why not give people the same grace to evolve over weeks, months, or years.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for today. And I guess the best way to describe sort of what I'm feeling today for the moment of yes is, is to not, not give up on people, not to give up on situations, mainly not to, not to maintain a stagnant thought or a judgment about anyone or in anything. You know, last night My wife and I were able to have dinner on the beach facing, you know, so that we had a sunset. And, you know, so I took a picture of the sunset and I took the same picture, same perspective, 10 minutes, 5, 10 minutes later, and the picture was completely different because in that short amount of time, so much had changed even though from our physical standpoint, Everything was the same. And so the picture was completely different because of the direction of the sun and the lighting and everything. And that was just in a few minutes' time. And you have to ask yourself, how often do we see someone act a certain way or say something that we immediately create a cement-strong judgment around and we don't give them any room to grow, to change, to evolve, to transform? We hold them in that judgment, if not for a long time, sometimes for the rest of our lives. So are we allowing— are we willing to give people the same ability to transform, to change, as we give nature? Because I allowed nature a few minutes to give me a totally different experience and perspective. Am I willing to give someone else that? That same benefit of the doubt, even if it's weeks, months, or years from them growing and evolving. So be open. We're always open to what nature is going to give us because we know it's always changing. Are we open to what others are giving us? Because they too are always changing. And FYI, so are we. We're always changing too. So be open to it. Expect change. Don't get attached to what that change is going to look like, but expect change because things are always changing. That's your moment of yes for today, everyone. Have a wonderful day.
