AMOY: Pavlov's New Dog!

Set three daily alarms as intentional triggers to pause and check in with your emotions. Each time one sounds, spend 30 seconds identifying what you're feeling and why, then consciously choose where to direct your attention next.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your moment of yes for today. I want to sort of acknowledge, graciously acknowledge that one of my big ideas is posted on Brian Johnson's entheos.com. Brian Johnson from Finding Joe as well as the Philosopher's Notes, his website. So one of my big ideas is posted in his newsletter today and it's the idea I've shared it before. I call it Pavlov's new dog. We all know the The trigger response with Pavlov, whenever the buzzer goes off, the dog looks for its food. And so thinking about that for ourselves and how we do that every day, we have triggers that set us off. And what would it be like if we created some really healthy triggers for ourselves? So the easy one that I've come up with is take your phone out, set the alarm or reminders 3 different times throughout the day, and whenever that alarm goes off Just take 30 seconds, take a minute, stop, reflect back on how you're feeling. Just take stock of how you're feeling in that moment. Are you anxious? Are you happy? Are you distracted? And think back, what is going on that's making you feel the way that you're feeling? And you can probably connect the dots to what's going on in your day for those last few hours. Then think about Where you want your attention to be in that moment, to kind of reboot, refocus, kind of take control back of showing up, acting, behaving the way that you want to behave. So you get to stop, reflect, notice, and then reboot and move forward the way that you would choose to move forward. So you're taking control, you're taking ownership of how you're behaving, how you're feeling, and how you're thinking. It's really as simple as that. It's Pavlov's new dog. It's you using your own trigger mechanism to get you grounded and moving purposefully, living your yes. And that's your moment of yes for today. Make sure you check out the link to Entheos and check out Brian's site and all his good stuff, and you can read my big idea for the day. That's your moment of yes. See y'all.
