Good morning everyone. Here is your moment of yes for today. Hello to Jason and Jen and all the crew doing the aerial arts this week. If you guys are watching this in the car this morning, thank you for watching A Moment of Yes. Now put it down. Put it down. Again, today your moment of yes is part 2 of Put It Down which is now— thank you Angela and Whit. It is the Put It Down Revolution. Yesterday, we talked about noticing how much we go to our cell phones, our smartphones as a distraction to fill idle time, kind of like a Pavlov's dog reaction. I talked about it in the morning and then I went out through the day. I had to stop class after class that I was teaching and talk to the kids about this reaction, this instinctual reaction that they have after 30 seconds of doing something Every time they sit down, they've got to sit down and pull out their phone. They're not alone. I catch myself doing it all the time. Now I'm noticing that habit, that impulse that we have to constantly be checking. I've got to check. What am I missing? What am I missing? Did I get a text? Did I get an email? Did someone offer me a million dollars? What in the world am I so concerned that I am missing that I've got to check this pacifier device Every 30 seconds. So, we're continuing that today. Let's be conscious and aware and awake to just how much we rely on this device. So today, I'm going to challenge you as part 2 is I want you to count the number of times throughout the day that you pull out that phone and have to check it. How many times a day do you actually Do that. You're checking it constantly. So today, your moment of yes for today is to count the number of times at the end of the day. Send me a comment or send me an email. Let me know how many times a day you do it, and then we're going to start to address really the need if we need to check it that often. I'll give you the quick answer. The quick answer is no, but we'll look more into that later. That's your moment of yes for today, everyone. Put it down. Be present with what is going on around you right now. There's some pretty good things happening right in front of your face. Are you noticing them? Have a great day.
