In this short YouTube video, part of Travis Thomas’s “Moment of Yes” series, the single speaker greets viewers on October 1, 2013 and invites them to use the day as a checkpoint for their New Year’s resolutions. After noting that he has recorded roughly 270 daily “moment of yes” videos, he asks the audience to reflect on the goals set nine months earlier, assess whether they are still being pursued, and avoid self‑condemnation. He then reframes the remaining three months of 2013 as a focused sprint, encouraging viewers to define concrete objectives, qualities, or ideas they want to develop before the year ends. The talk is framed as a motivational prompt to pause, reflect, and set a clear, short‑term action plan for the final quarter of the year.

Good morning everyone. Here is your moment of yes for today. Happy October. October 1st. Can you believe it? 9 months into 2013. Crazy. 3 months to go. So think back. Think back 9 months ago to the beginning of the year. Hard to believe. Hard to believe that was 9 months ago. Crazy. And so I know one of my big goals and resolutions for the year was this, was a moment of yes. To spend each day, each morning doing a little bit of listening and then to record one of these videos. And so for roughly 270 mornings thus far, I've held to that commitment of doing a moment of yes. So if you're really bored today, you can go back and watch all 270, and after that you can get a life. Sorry. No. If you do that, I would be very flattered, but don't do that. It's going to take a while. Your moment of yes for today is actually to think back 9 months ago. Do you remember any of the goals or resolutions you set for yourself at the beginning of the year? If so, are they tracking? Are you still doing them? Did they fall away? What happened? So reflect back, 2013, day 1. What goals or resolutions did you have for yourself? Now, if you let some of them go and maybe you're beating yourself up with self-condemnation right now, don't. Instead, today is day 1 of the last 3 months of 2013. And this is kind of a crazy push, right? We kind of pushed through October right into the holiday season. So think for yourself these 3 months. If we look at this as a 3-month exercise, what are the goals or resolutions you have for now through the end of the year, right up to 2014? What goals? What resolutions? What qualities or ideas do you want to work on for the next 3 months or focus on? So that's your moment of yes for today. Is to look back a little bit and go, okay, what did I think about or start with at the beginning of the year? Where am I now? Okay, how have I done? But now go, okay, all right, these 3 months, these 3 months left, what do I want to make of them? Spend some time doing that today and put your focus on that after reflecting on the past 9 months. So that's your Mona VS4 today, everyone. Have a wonderful, wonderful day.
