A speaker shares how he completed two 2013 goals: a daily "Moment of Yes" video and a "Yes Live" event. He booked the venue before planning content to force accountability, and filmed every day without exception, even from his car. Consistency matters more than inspiration.

Good morning. Here is your Moment of Yes. Well, today is the 31st Moment of Yes. You know, with 2013, I made a couple of commitments. 2 that I wanted to do right away in January, and that was to start doing a Moment of Yes every day, no matter what. And so far, one month down, I have achieved that. And the second one was to do a Yes Live event, which I did, which many of you know, last week. I really think the key to these 2 successes for me has been 2 things. One is when you make that commitment, make yourself accountable to it. For me with the Yes Live event, I booked the event in the theater before I even knew what the event was going to be. Once I had the date scheduled, I knew I was now accountable to putting that event on. That sense of urgency was a built-in accountability for me to actually do the event and then figure out the details. As Peter Block says, the answer to how is yes. So by saying yes to the event, the how, well, that just worked itself out on the way to getting it done. The second thing is stick with it. No matter what commitment, resolution, no matter what you're trying to do to improve yourself, just do it every day. No matter how good it is, as you can tell by this moment of yes today, I'm having to shoot this in the car because I'm getting ready to run into a yoga class, and so my head's getting cut off in the car cam. But stick to it. Do it no matter what. Even if it's a messy day, a hurried day, an uninspired day, just do it. Stick with it. Don't take a day off. Don't sell yourself short. Don't worry about being perfect. Do it, do it, do it. Stick with it. You're going to create a routine just by doing it. And your ideas and your content and— or whatever you're trying to improve will get better and more inspired every day. So I need to go get my Warrior 1 on, and that is your moment of yes for today. Have a wonderful day, everyone. Bye.
