Spider monkeys get trapped because they won't let go of fruit inside a bottle. The speaker uses this to ask what you're clinging to: resentment, grudges, expectations. Let it go and move forward.

Good morning. Here is your moment of yes. You know, I heard a story about spider monkeys. And trappers who catch spider monkeys discovered that if you take a heavy bottle and put some fruit in the bottom of the bottle, the monkeys will come along, they'll put their fist into the bottle and grab the fruit. They'll put their fist around the fruit. But they can't get their fist out of the bottle because their fist is wrapped around the fruit. And instead of just letting go of the fruit and freeing themselves and pulling their arm out, they will actually allow themselves to be trapped and caught by the hunters, thus essentially giving up their life. To me, the analogy, the lesson is pretty obvious. What are you holding on to? What am I holding on to that is preventing me from living, from moving on, from having a life? What resentment, what forgiveness am I so attached to? What outcome do I need to have happen that I'm not allowing myself to move on and to progress and to ultimately be happy and find peace? What is the fruit that you have your fist around? What are you not letting go? Let's not be like the spider monkey. We've all got bigger things ahead of us. So free yourself. Let go. Let go of the attachment. That's your moment of yes for today. Have a wonderful day.
