AMOY: Supposed To

The speaker urges you to notice when you're acting from obligation instead of love. Pause and ask what feels true right now. Let that guide your choices at work, with family, everywhere.

Good morning everyone. Happy Thursday. Here is your moment of yes for today. You know, it's easy to get caught up during your day or at work or working with your kids or whatnot with thinking like, this is what I'm supposed to do, or this is what I need to do, or this is what you're supposed to do, or this is what you need to do, and get really sort of wrapped up into this idea of what we are supposed to do. And as a result of that, we can show up, we can behave, we can do things that actually feel inauthentic because it's based on maybe someone else's ideas, someone else's beliefs, someone else's expectations, or what we feel should be our own beliefs or expectations. And it turns into being us acting from a mindset of supposed to and need to, instead of responding and acting from a standpoint of what feels true and what feels authentic. And, and that can be a workplace conversation with a worker, a conversation with your spouse or your child or a friend. Instead of trying to fit into a mold of this is what I should say or I'm supposed to do or supposed to say, taking a moment to breathe, relax, and ask yourself what What feels authentic? What feels true? Probably what's coming from your purpose, your yes, is coming from that sense of love. And so for today, just listen to that. Maybe instead of getting— when you catch yourself going, oh, this is what I'm supposed to do, or this is what I need to be doing right now, take a step back and ask yourself, what feels true and authentic right now? Then let that love, let that grace lead you forward. That's your moment of yes for today, everyone. Have a wonderful day.
