AMOY: Surrender the Season!

Phil Jackson's 11 Rings teaches that control is an illusion. During the holidays, when family stress peaks, notice when you're trying to force outcomes. Instead, surrender, trust the moment, and act authentically.

Good morning, everyone. Happy Thursday. Here's your moment of yes for today. I just finished reading Phil Jackson's awesome new book, 11 Rings. He walks you through all 11 of his coaching championships, which is amazing, as well as his philosophy along the way. Obviously, he's been known as the Zen master, so he gets all into that. It was such an amazing book when it comes to Coaching and controlling and the lack of control. And he obviously takes a much more deeper spiritual approach than most coaches have taken in the past. Everything from meditation to Zen to letting go to autonomy to improvisation, it's all there. Democracy. Yes, Tracy, it's there. And actually Tracy recommended the book, so thank you, Tracy. World Blue. Plug. Plug, robloo.com. So amazing book and just the idea of coaching and control got me thinking about— well, it got me thinking about everything, let alone the holidays. So there's always a great opportunity especially during the holidays, especially with people finding yourself in family situations or just different situations wanting to control certain outcomes, wanting to control how something is going to go. And so I just invite you, whether it's starting today or over the holidays, just to notice when you find yourself in a situation that you're trying to control. And not even control by a malicious standpoint, but just control how I really want it to be like this, or I really hope things happen like this, and if they don't, I'm going to get upset or stressful or try to— just try to control it. And so you can start off by noticing that today, how often during the day This sense of wanting to control a situation comes up and just notice it and let grace and let peace and trust surrender to the moment. And throughout the holidays this coming week, just continuously allowing yourself to let go, surrender to the moment, and just appreciate what is. If there's anything this Moment of Yes has been about for the past 365 days is Is trusting, letting go, and being authentic in the moment. Your yes is your authenticity. So give that a shot. That's your moment of yes for today. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
