A guided meditation combined breathing exercises with 20 minutes of meditation that felt much shorter and left people energized. The speaker explains the "casino effect": casinos pump extra oxygen to keep patrons alert, just like deep intentional breaths replenish your body and boost alertness. Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes for today. Now yesterday, a colleague of mine put a few of us through a guided meditation. First, he taught us all a few different breathing exercises, and then he guided us through about a 20-minute meditation, which felt like 5 minutes. And when we all finished, we felt super revved up and supercharged. I know I've been talking a lot recently about breathing, the importance of breathing, and being able to breathe through our tension, breathe through our stress, breathe through those fearful moments. This only reiterated it for me. When we were all done, we were talking about how fresh we felt. Another colleague of mine shared what is called the casino effect, which is when you go into a casino, it's dark. There's no clocks, and they pump oxygen into the casino. They pump that oxygen so that it recharges you. You stay more alert, more awake, and obviously so that you'll gamble more. Well, meditation and breathing is essentially doing your own private casino effect. And by taking that time to take deep, long breaths and to do that repeatedly, you are actually refilling your body With oxygen to its maximum level. So therefore, of course, you feel recharged and refreshed. So again, your moment of yes for today is try to find a few minutes, 5 minutes, 2 minutes, 3 minutes to stop, take a few long deep breaths. Try 10 deep breaths to start. In through the nose, out through the nose, in a really slow, deliberate, intentional pace. And especially when you're feeling fearful, stressed, or anxious, take those big, long, deep breaths. So that's your moment of yes for today. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
