In this short spoken meditation, the presenter reflects on Eckhart Tolle’s concept that ‘stillness speaks’ while observing the Mississippi River from a workshop near St. Louis. Using the river’s silent yet powerful flow as a metaphor, he invites listeners to notice the mental chatter—thoughts, fears, judgments—that prevent them from experiencing inner stillness. He offers a ‘moment of yes’ exercise: become aware of these distractions, surrender them, and connect with the quiet presence that ‘silence speaks.’ The talk concludes with encouragement to feel and surrender to that peace throughout the day.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for today. You know, a few years ago, Eckhart Tolle wrote a book called Stillness Speaks, which is kind of an interesting concept to think about. Stillness speaks. And this weekend, I am right outside of St. Louis at a workshop, staying really literally overlooking the Mississippi River. And each morning, I get up and I drive into town, and the road, the Great River Road, It goes right along the river the whole time. And as I was driving back this morning, I was just appreciating sort of the beauty and the stillness of the river. I love the ocean, but there's something interesting about driving alongside the river because it's moving and it's powerful, but it's totally silent. And it made me think of this idea: silence speaks. Silence is moving. Silence is moving. Silence is powerful. So as I pondered and meditated on that idea for a little bit, it made me think about what thoughts, what ideas, what judgments, what fears in my life right now are causing me to not be silent. That it's pulling me away from, from the power and the presence and the, the peace that Of stillness. So your moment of yes for today is, is for you to notice right now in this moment what thoughts, distractions, ideas, fears, beliefs are making your thoughts, your head, so loud that you can't feel the stillness of silence. And right now in this moment, can you find the stillness in your thought? Can you surrender? Can you let go of whatever is nagging and pinning at you right now? Can you just let it go for a moment, connect with stillness, and hear what stillness has to say? Stillness does speak. So find that peace, feel that peace. You don't need to find it, just surrender to it and feel that stillness today. That's your moment of yes, everyone. Have a wonderful day.
