AMOY: Why Nature?

Nature isn't a luxury but a teacher. Birds inspired flight. We keep replacing natural spaces with development, but nature shows us sustainability, connectivity, and how everything connects. Pay attention to it. Protect it.

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday. How was Halloween for you last night? Enjoying a little bit of that candy? I finally was. Yes. So happy Friday. Here's your moment of yes for today. Now as you can see right now, the home that we're in, we're blessed to be renting a house right now that just happens to have this really, really inspiring view. Sitting out here on this lake overlooking the water. And every day, every morning, it's like a nature show. It's always different, but it's always something new. And it's just a peaceful and really calming way to kind of start the day or at different times just to come out here and sit and observe. It had me thinking this morning how How so much of our life and our world has really been inspired by nature. You know, I was watching a flock of birds kind of come in and they were like, you know, a squadron. And I was just thinking like, wow, our whole concept of flight and our ability to fly and our inspiration to fly was obviously inspired by birds, inspired by nature and how nature is a continuous teacher. And it got me thinking again how dismissive often we are of nature and wildlife. And yeah, that's great, but we really need to put another mall here, or whatever we rationalize. And it had me thinking, you know, you never hear someone say, you know what, I really need to clear my head, I'm gonna go to Best Buy and sit amongst all the TVs and electronics. We don't, we don't say that. Oh, I really need some inspiration, I'm gonna go sit in traffic. Right. We often don't have a problem just clearing out or getting rid of nature in order to build something else. And so I don't mean to get on my soapbox as much as to say how much peace and inspiration and learning we still get from just being in nature, observing nature. Just being silent and being conscious and connected with it. And that connection, it's, you know, it's not a dismissive luxury that, you know, we're trying to save for the sake of saving something. It is a teacher that is continuously actually telling us how life is sustainable, how life is connected, and how life is universal. And so I feel like that's, that's the real value of nature. That's why we're all drawn to nature. And that's why hopefully we'll continue to, to connect with it and protect it. So didn't mean to get on a soapbox today. Hopefully that's not soapboxy. Hopefully that's just maybe making a better connection. But that's what showed up today. And that's why that's your moment of yes. Have a great day.
