Travis Thomas runs Holiday Hope for the Homeless in Palm Beach County, which has grown from 80 gift bags to over 200. Each $30 bag holds toiletries, blankets, and handwritten kindness notes. All donations go directly to supplies, and $5 to $10 can fund one bag.
2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, but if you're watching this video, you have survived through this adversity, and now this is your opportunity to help someone else who's struggling through a tough time themselves. Hi everyone, this is Travis Thomas with Live Yes And, letting you know that this is year 4 of Holiday Hope for the Homeless. We started this 4 years ago here in Palm Beach County with the intention and inspiration to make sure that everybody feels loved and seen during the holidays. Now we realize that there are about 1,500 people currently living on the streets at one time in Palm Beach County, and our job is just to bring a little bit of love and a little bit of attention so that people feel human during the holidays. In year 1, we created about 80 gift bags. Year 2, it was 120. Last year, over 200 gift bags. And this year, our goal is to even go bigger. With your help, with your donation, even the smallest donation, We create individual gift bags that are hand-delivered to those currently living on the streets in Palm Beach County. In the bags, we put everything from practical things like toothbrushes and blankets and pillows and toiletries, but we make sure we get a little bit of love in there as well. We include kindness notes and gift cards, things that can be put to practical use, but also at the same time make you feel seen and loved. If you just wanna make a donation, we are going to take 100% of the money and put it towards buying as many supplies as possible to create as many bags as possible to make this the biggest Holiday Hope for the homeless yet. Once we have all the donations and all the supplies, we put all of the bags together, as many as we can, and then we take them to the Lord's Place in Palm Beach County where they are then delivered by hand to those people currently living on the streets. There's roughly $30 in every bag that is given out, so every little donation matters, from $5 to $10 to whatever you can do. 100% of all your donations go towards supplies put in these holiday bags. Holiday Hope for the Homeless 2020. Help us spread the love.
