Travis Thomas is organizing Holiday Hope for the Homeless, a week-long drive in Palm Beach County to collect donations and assemble gift packages for people experiencing homelessness. Drop-off sites are at The Bigger Pitch in Stuart and Rock Steady locations in Jupiter and North Palm Beach. Volunteers will pack and deliver gifts on December 21st at Rock Steady.
Hi everyone, this is Travis down in South Florida wishing you a happy holidays. Now many of you don't realize that South Florida actually has a huge homeless population. So this year in Palm Beach, we have been inspired to create Holiday Hope for the Homeless. Now what we're doing over the next week is we are collecting donations as well as supplies that will go toward assembling holiday gift packages that are going to be given out to the homeless. We are partnering with a homeless shelter as well as some local businesses to gather supplies, assemble the gifts, and then make sure they get them before the holidays. So I know a lot of you aren't local, but you still want to help. That's why we created this GoFundMe page. Every dollar donated is going directly to the homeless. So thank you. Every donation we are going to use for the supplies to go into the gift packages. For those of you who are local, there's a couple of ways that you can help. We have set up donation centers, one at The Bigger Pitch in Stuart, and then both Rock Steady locations, the one in Jupiter as well as North Palm Beach, where you can drop off the listed supplies that are going to go into the gift packages. Toiletry supplies such as toothpaste and all of those supplies listed, the gift bags that they're going to receive the package and be able to reuse, as well as gift cards, throw pillows, blankets, all of the essentials, as well as a little bit of love. So if you can drop off some supplies at the donation centers, that's great, or you can donate cash. Every dollar you donate is going to be spent directly for the homeless. Or next Thursday night, the 21st, we're going to be meeting at Rock Steady to assemble these bags as well as take additional donations, but assemble these bags and then delivering them to the homeless shelter that we are working with. So those are the 3 opportunities that you can get involved. So thank you with every little thing that you can do to help bring hope to the homeless this holiday season.
