RAK Friday 2023

Travis Thomas marks ten years of #RACKFriday, a movement that turns Black Friday into Random Acts of Kindness. He suggests buying coffee for strangers, shoveling driveways, leaving muffins for neighbors, and other low-cost gestures, asking people to share their acts on social media using #RackFriday10.

Hello everyone, Travis Thomas here letting you know that this year is the 10-year anniversary of #RACKFriday. 10 years ago, we started this fun little project. The idea was to transform the day after Thanksgiving, typically known as Black Friday, into #RACKFriday, which means Random Acts of Kindness Friday. Now, instead of getting sucked into the crazy scene that is Black Friday, our goal is to spend the day doing as many random acts of kindness as possible. Now, since this year is the 10-year anniversary, our goal for everyone is to do 10 random acts of kindness. If you wanna do more, that's up to you, but to do at least 10. Again, it's not so much about the number, but as we go out there and we express kindness and we connect with others, it has this ripple effect of goodness, not only in your family, in your community, but of course into the world. And does our world need anything more right now than kindness? I think not. So join us. How can you help us, right? You can share this video. You can share this message on Rack Friday. Anything that you do, use the hashtag #RackFriday10, right? Share this with others. Put it on X, put it on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, your LinkedIn page, however you wanna do it. And what are some things that you can do? It's not so much about having to spend a lot of money to do random acts of kindness. It can be doing something for your neighbor, leaving muffins at their front door, shoveling off a driveway. It can be raking leaves. It can be anything. It can be buying the cup of coffee for the person behind you, going through a drive-through window and buying the order behind you, leaving popcorn bags on video machines in Walmart, giving gift cards to people who have to work On Black Friday. There are no rules outside of just be kind. Just be kind. Give someone your parking spot. Hold the door for someone. Just be kind. So help me, help us spread the word. We know this has gone global in the last 10 years, and it doesn't matter who owns it. Kindness can't be owned, but it can definitely be shared, and we need you to help us share the kindness. #RackFriday10, help us transform Black Friday into Rack Friday and bring a little bit of love to the world.
