In this brief motivational segment, the host introduces the week’s “Yes And” challenge, drawing on Brené Brown’s “permission slip” concept. Brown’s idea is that when we feel disconnected, we can write ourselves a permission slip—like we would for a child—to allow ourselves to fully experience feelings, whether pleasant or painful. The host asks viewers to create a daily permission slip for the week of February 22‑28, suggesting examples such as permission to be silly, feel hurt, or try something new. Participants are invited to share their slips publicly in the chat or privately via a provided phone number. The segment ends with an encouraging reminder that granting oneself permission is an act of authentic self‑acceptance.

Hello, everyone. Here is your Yes and Challenge for the week of February 22nd, the last full week of February, and then we're into March. Holy cow, we're almost— this is nuts. All right, time is just now and then now and then now. It's flying. It's flipping. All right, here we go. So, I'm a huge fan. I shared this in one of the Moment of Yeses last week, this idea of writing yourself permission slips. Now, this is a Brené Brown idea. Brené Brown, not Brené. Brené Brown idea. And I shared it last week in one of the Moment of Yeses. Permission slips. When she noticed herself feeling disconnected from herself, right? She felt like she was floating through her experience instead of being grounded in her experience because she was protecting herself from sort of disappointment. So she wrote a permission slip like she writes her child, or you write your child a permission slip to do something. She wrote herself a permission slip to be in her body and to feel her feelings, good or bad, to feel it, to experience it. That's what life is all about. So this week, your Yes, I Am challenge: each day, I want you to write a permission slip. What are you giving yourself permission to do today? Maybe it's permission to be silly, permission to feel hurt, permission to try something new. Whatever that permission is, you're giving yourself permission to feel something and do something authentically, or Or to connect with something in a way that you've been wanting to, but maybe feeling afraid to do so. So just write that permission slip. If you want to throw it in the chat box, that would be awesome as well, as far as the comments. Or if you want to text it to me privately, my cell is 561-676-4583. And just let me know what kind of permission slip you're writing yourself today. All right, guys, that's it. Easy permission slip. Because you're giving yourself permission to be you, your yes, your excellent self. Have a blast, everyone. Talk to you soon.
