YES Report: May 22nd

Travis Thomas is moving to an unknown location as a live experiment and redesigning the Thirty Days of Yes website. His friend Dave Patterson is using the 30-day challenge to search for a job and documenting it in a blog series. Thomas suggests setting three daily phone alarms to pause and check in with yourself.

Welcome to 30 Days of Yes. This is the Yes Report for May 22nd, 2012. Hope all of you guys are having a fantastic day. Just want to let you know what is new with 30 Days of Yes, what new features we have, and what is coming up. Right now I am in the midst of boxes all over my home here as my wife and I continue to get packed up and we move on to our next adventure here this summer. We don't know where that is yet, but that is all about living our yes. We will see where our party stops next, but it's going to be a great time no matter what it is. We have some great things coming up with 30 Days of Yes. Thank you for being patient with my current website, but right now the website is under a complete redesign. It's really going to represent sort of what my vision for 30 Days of Yes is. That website, or at least phase 1 of that website, is coming soon. So please be patient with how things are right now, and I promise the site will match the spirit and the depth and the content of what 30 Days of Yes is all about. You may have noticed that I have a current blog series running right now called Lost in St. Louis, and that is with a friend of mine, Dave Patterson, who has been out of work for over a year now. We sat down recently to talk about jobs and work and employment, and we talked about 30 Days of Yes, and he said, hey, I want to try it. I want to do it, and I want to document my experience with it as I continue to look for work. So Dave has offered to be a human guinea pig for 30 Days of Yes as he goes through the experience himself. He's blogging about it on his own website, and I'm posting excerpts on 30 Days of Yes. So you can follow his journey. But continue to follow the Lost in St. Louis series for 30 Days of Yes. So that's what's going on. We have the Yes series, great interviews that are going on with different people who are sharing how they live their purpose, how they live mindfulness on a day-to-day basis. And we also have the next 30 Days of Yes program coming July 1st, as well as 30 Days of Fitness, 30 Days of Yes Fitness. Very excited about all of these programs and so thankful to have you all checking out the site. And so my yes idea for today and the yes report is I want you to set the alarm on your phone. Obviously, we all have our smartphones now, and even if you don't, set the alarm on your phone 3 times today or tomorrow, whenever you are getting this. Set it for three times tomorrow, spaced out throughout the day. And whenever that alarm goes off, that is your little bell. That's your reminder to think about where have my thoughts been over the last period of time, and just to kind of take stock. Think about where have my thoughts been distracted with something in particular? Have they been positive? Have they been negative? Have I been thinking about something that I just can't get out of my head? Where have your thoughts been going? And it's just kind of a reboot. You're going to reboot your thoughts. You're going to align them with what you are about purposefully. And you're going to align them with what makes you feel good. So you're going to reboot. You're going to do that 3 times throughout the day. It's going to be a great way for you to realign, refocus, bring your yes back into focus as you go out throughout your day. It's all about that mindfulness, paying attention. Being present with your thoughts and noticing them—that is living your yes. That is the yes report for this week. My name is Travis Thomas, the founder and creator of Thirty Days of Yes. Thank you so much for being here. Have a wonderful week.
