Everyone says, "Just be grateful, do your gratitude mantras every day," but they never explain what to do when it feels like life is a never-ending cycle of packing up and starting over. For me, the last 5 years have resembled a constant state of uneasiness, and they've been hard work, to be honest. I've been careful, messy, uncertain at many times, and I've tried the "just be grateful" mantra too. But gratitude alone didn't mend the cracks in my reality. What truly shifted was raw honesty. Honesty about what was failing. Honesty about what had to change and daring to take steps forward regardless of the fear. Even when the path was filled with doubt, especially in those moments. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter, not because I wore a mask of positivity, but because I stripped away the pretense and chose to move out of my comfort zone.
