My biggest fear right now is relaxing and not keeping up my weight training and my, my weights, because I've been building up over the last couple of months. I've been building up, had my PT. I think I've had like 30 sessions or 35 sessions. It is awesome, and I don't want to disappoint my PT Kylie. I don't want to disappoint myself. I'm like, I can't go back and not be able to do the, the assisted chest lifts or whatever they're called. I can't go back and not do the hip thrusts with the big weights. This is— it's holding standards, and I will be so disappointed in myself if I did not uphold the weights and even go bigger. So my goal for the next couple of weeks where I don't have PT sessions is to actually build up a bit more and go, hey, look what I did. Whereas most people, what would they do, Pete? They would absolutely relax and then go back to their old self. You know, I read something yesterday that gyms thrive off people getting off the, the train, getting off the bandwagon, because they— that's where You go, "I'm gonna go back and sign up again." "Oh, I'm gonna go back in." And they make more money from you, all the exit fees and all that stuff. Gyms require membership, and membership is there for a reason. Membership makes you accountable, and having a PT is like the next level if you want to make sure that you do show up. So if you're contemplating why things are not working well, go and get the people, the mentors, the coaches to support you. And that's what I did, because I know every morning I don't wanna get out of bed at 5:30 and be at the gym by 10 to 6. But I do it, and I do it because I'm held accountable, and I show up, and I've got to get there early because I've got to do my warm-up. So you can't just rock up and go, I'm ready. That's what we do. Don't do.
And it's also about the people that you surround yourself with socially as well, family-wise as well. If they're not waking up and motivating you, just remember you can lean on us. Reach out to us, DM Life, get in touch, join our community. We'll keep you accountable, and we are like-minded like you. We want you to live your best, and we want you to be your best. So don't feel feel like you've got no one around you.
Hey, we didn't, we didn't start like this. I look at us like my tummy is out. I never had my tummy out. You know what, I'm confident in my body now, and I wasn't like that even 4, 3, 4 months ago. So huge changes and shifts can happen super quickly, as Peter said. It's just you're one decision away, one decision away from having that body, that life, that business, that relationship, and being the best parent that you can ever be.
Most importantly, you have to do it together. Don't do it alone.
Yeah, that's been the biggest win for us. Took some time for Peter to come on, but the moment he flicked that switch on and said, "Yes, I'm in this with you," and this was like 2 or 3 years ago, we had entered our first mastermind. I was crying that day. It was a really big stretch. People were watching us and I got feedback from someone who I didn't even know was there. People were watching us thinking, "They're gonna divorce." I'm like, "No, we just had to work through some crap." And it's amazing, people kind of thrive. I'm like, you're there to watch a program. It was a 4-day event. And this person was sitting next to us, a stranger, but like 6 degrees of separation, more like 2, so I found out. And it was just crazy, crazy thinking someone's watching us and kind of watching us like a drama and hoping and being entertained. That's not why you go to events. So if you're there at events hoping for entertainment, that's not it. You need to take action. Hold yourself accountable, and you need to actually see how you can help people rather than judge.
That's so true. The devil's watching you with the popcorn, entertaining themselves, waiting for your life to crumble, but you're not going to let that happen. You're going to live a full life.
Yeah, I love the analogy that Andy gives. It's nice having a picture like the devil and angel. Like, that's how I picture— I'm like, yes, not letting them get in. Um, so last thoughts for now is, you know what, we're gonna go enjoy our walk, and we're waiting for the green pass. We've bought our passes for the gym, waiting for the green tick to go, yes, you can go now. Um, so that's we're gonna do. Let's go enjoy our day. It's actually quite chilly for summer. It's really cold, it's like probably 20 degrees, so I'm feeling it. You can probably see goosebumps. See the goosebumps? Full life all the way with your partner, okay? With your partner. And to those who maybe don't have a partner or whose partner's totally the opposite, just be patient. Start playing things on your computer, in the kitchen. Start exposing your family and people around because A lot of people aren't even aware that they're in a rut or need to change at all. It's not like it happens overnight.
Don't give up on a stubborn partner. I am the stubborn partner. I always have been. I still am the stubborn partner. But if you've got someone who doesn't give up on you, just don't give up. They will come to their senses. Be patient. This is a marathon, not a sprint. A marriage is a marathon, not a sprint. Your partner's transformation from stubbornness to somethingness is a marathon, a huge marathon. So just let them celebrate the small wins in their life. Don't drag them to be an overnight fitness guru. Not gonna happen.
Yeah, a little bit of exposure every time.
