In this short guided video, Vivek George leads a one‑minute self‑love practice that combines a "butterfly hug" with alternating shoulder taps and deep, mindful breathing. He begins with a brief personal check‑in, explains the simple technique, and cites scientific research suggesting that self‑hugs and tapping can lower cortisol (stress hormone) and boost oxytocin (the love chemical). Viewers are encouraged to move at a gentle pace, keep the practice brief if time‑pressed, and optionally extend it beyond the minute. The session concludes with a check‑out, a reminder of the physiological benefits, and an invitation for viewers to share their experiences in the comments, emphasizing ongoing self‑compassion and daily practice.

Hey guys, welcome back to your daily self-love practice. My name is Vivek George. If you don't know me, welcome to my channel. And today's practice is a very gentle self-love practice. We're gonna— for 1 minute, we're gonna just hug ourselves. We're gonna do a butterfly hug and tap our shoulders. And while this may actually seem silly or not that beneficial It's quite powerful. There's a lot of science around self-hugs and these butterfly hugs and even tapping around reducing stress, reducing cortisol in our body, and actually releasing, helping to stimulate the release of oxytocin, the love chemical. So this is literally a practice in self-love if, if there is one, just holding ourselves and tapping. And sometimes that's all we need. We just need something gentle, something light and easy. Because perhaps we just have other things we want to do in our day. We just don't have the time or energy for something deeper, and that's totally okay. The journey of life, the journey of self-love, and all these practices, they go ups and downs. That's, that's how things are. They're never quite straight, and they're not always going straight up. There's sometimes going way back down and twists and turns. That's kind of the fun of life, I guess you could say, if you want to take a more positive, uh, silver lining outlook at it. So like I said, we're going to do a really gentle practice of hugging yourself for 1 minute. I'll keep a timer, but before we get started, we'll do a quick check-in and see how we're feeling. How am I feeling? Well, I'm feeling good. I'm actually quite excited about this, um, this practice because it's so light and gentle and it does really benefit me when I do it, I do it on a regular basis and it helps. So I love doing it. So I'm excited to share this with all of you and hopefully you notice the benefits as well. How are you all feeling? I'll give you a moment to check in with yourselves. Cool. I'll keep the timer here and I also encourage you to sort of take some nice, gentle, deep breaths. As you do this hug. You know, don't race. There's nothing— no, nowhere we need to rush to. Just be here. It's only 1 minute of your life. And by the way, if you want to extend it, just pause the video and let it go until you're ready. It's, it's quite a nice practice. Awesome. So, uh, without any further ado, get the timer started. It'll look like this, then you'll Just alternate tapping on your shoulders like this and just take some deep, slow breaths in and out as you do it. Okay, pretty simple. Good luck and enjoy. You can close your eyes as well. That's also nice. Don't forget to just take some gentle breaths as you do this practice. 15 seconds. Okay, that's it. I mean, I'm really enjoying this. I'm going Extend it for a few more seconds, guys. Give yourself a big smile. Take one more last deep breath in and out. Okay, when you're ready, sort of gently open up your eyes. You can slow down your tapping. Maybe just gently rub your, your biceps. Give yourself a big smile. Awesome. Nice job. Yeah, this was a quick one, quick gentle self-love practice, but yeah, we released back those chemicals to love ourselves. So we definitely did some good work today. How are you all feeling? How's our check outfit now? Yeah, I'm feeling great. I think that— I think the oxytocin's going and the cortisol's coming down. So yeah, feeling great. Let me know in the comments how this was, how this practice was, and how your check-in and check-out was as well. I'd love to read it. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy whatever you're doing, your work or play or whatever in between. And most importantly, Don't forget to love yourself. Ciao.
