Are You Taking The Time To Work ON YOUR BUSINESS??

Andy Neary argues that business owners need to step back from daily chaos to see the bigger picture. When you zoom out to a one- to five-year view, most problems shrink, and you spot opportunities you miss while grinding in the weeds.

Right now, I am high above Aspen, Colorado. Absolutely stunning, right? We're in the middle of Aspen season. When you look down at the town, even though it's not a big town anyways, you realize how small it is. You get a whole view of the valley. But I bet you if I were to go down into town, I would find problems, right? There'd be a car accident, there'd be people yelling, there'd be a problem over here and here and over here. But because I'm up on the mountain looking down those problems, the noise doesn't really seem that big. And I teach this, I share this, because so, so many are stuck in the noise in the business today. And you're not taking the time to step away, step up and look down at your business. Are you focused on working on your business as much as you are in the business right now? Listen, fourth quarter is upon us, and it's so easy to get caught in the daily grind of the fourth quarter. Get caught in working in the business every single day, and it feels like your business is running you. But this is the advice I want to give you today. I need to give you today. Start blocking time with the most important person on your calendar. You block time to step back, look at your business, look down at your business, because I promise you, when you do that, you're going to find out those problems you're dealing with every single day. Don't really look that big, especially if you're looking out one year, three years, five years from now. So take the time, just like I am right now, to look down on this beautiful city. Take the time to look down at your business, and I guarantee you'll find a lot of beauty in what you're doing. And those problems that you face, feel are like, are overwhelming you day in and day out. This won't seem that big.
