Being CONSISTENT Is The Unlock To Your Success

Andy Neary argues consistency beats talent. He points to Aaron Rodgers throwing 50 touchdowns and 5 interceptions this season, and Brett Favre staying with Green Bay since 1991, as proof that showing up daily with the same five behaviors—productive, present, prepared, positive, patient—builds lasting success.

So what can the Green Bay packers teach you about consistency? Well, watching the packers take on and beat the LA Rams this weekend in advance to the NFC Championship got me thinking about this word, consistency. First, can we just acknowledge Aaron Rodgers is ridiculous? The dude is 37, playing the best football of his life. What does he have? 50 touchdowns and five interceptions? Can we just hand him the NFL MVP? You can't do that on a video game. But here's where consistency comes in. As a Packer fan, every Sunday I watch, I think about the one stat that blows me away every single time I think about it. And that's this. Since 1991, Packer fans have watched two quarterbacks get behind center in Green Bay. In 1991, Brett Favre took over, 2008, Aaron Rodgers took over, and that's it. No offense, Bears fans. You've watched about 50 quarterbacks come through in that same time period. But here's what's even more amazing is how in the heck have Aaron Rodgers today and Brett Favre been so consistent? Got to believe they show up every day, positive. They show up every day present. They show up every day productive. They're prepared. But most importantly, they're patient. You see, they know to have long term successful careers, yes, they need to win today. But they need to take care of their mind, their body, whatever it is, to have long term success. Are you applying these same five P's to your business? Are you showing up every day productive, positive, present, prepared, patient. That is the formula for success, whether you're a quarterback in Green Bay or you're selling insurance. So do me a favor, quit trying to win today. Quit trying to go for the silver bullet, the hack that's going to change your career overnight. And do what Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre have done. Apply those five P's show up every day productive, present, prepared, positive, patient. And I promise your career will go to heights you couldn't have imagined.
