And then the third life lesson that I learned from this keynote talk that that up really, really applies to marketing is consistency is key.
When I give this keynote talk, when I'm talking about marketing, the point I'm trying to make with marketing and consistency is you got to show up every day. You can't apply this short term mindset that you're going to do one, run one marketing campaign and everything's gonna happen for you. All the sales are going to come in the door. No, no, no. You gotta show up every single day with your marketing. You gotta grab attention every single day. And this one should be the most obvious. That's what life is about. You want to have success in life, whether you're an athlete, whether you're in business, whether you're a mother or father, I can't speak to that. I'm not myself. You gotta show up every day. Consistency is key. This is the number one ingredient that has been behind my own success in sports and in business. You know, when I look back at my high school and college baseball career, I wasn't overly talented, quite Frankly. I was 5 foot 9, I weighed 160, 170 pounds as a pitcher. I didn't throw 95 miles an hour. The reason I had a chance, I gave myself the chance to play, play at the professional level was I showed up every day. I did all the things when no one was looking. The weight room, the running, the jump ropes, the stretching, the working on my craft as a pitcher. And in business, it is no different. It's not just what happens between the lines. It's consistently showing up every day, putting in the work, putting in the grind. The stuff that's not fun, the stuff that's not sexy, you gotta show up and do every day.
Consistency.
Is what is missing from 98 of those who are not achieving the results they want. It's consistency. That's it.
I actually consider consistency one of my superpowers because I know when I go into a given activity again, could it be a sport, could be business. I know my success is going to be predicated on consistency. I know my competition is going to give up long before I do. And so I urge you to do the same thing again. Whether it's life or hey, we need to create marketing that's more effective. It's consistency. You gotta get out and do it every day.
