If you own your morning, you own your day. How you start your day has the biggest impact on how successful you are that day. Listen, so many are struggling right now. We're surrounded by negativity. It is everywhere. And if you let it impact how you start your day, you're gonna feel like you're working long hours, you're not getting much done, and all you're doing is putting out one fire after another. Tell me this, do you start your mornings like this? You get up, go pour yourself a cup of coffee in the kitchen, maybe grab a quick bite to eat, and then you turn the news on, or you open your iPad to read the latest news, and the only thing you see is negativity. Negativity, negativity, negativity. Then from there, you go check your inbox, and you open it, and the first thing is you see five emails from customers who aren't happy. Now you have to put fires out. And before you have even stepped foot in your shower, your day is done. You are surrounded by negativity. You're full of stress, you're full of anxiety, you're full of frustration. How in the world are you going to get anything done that day? So that's what I want to help you do today. I want you to literally want to help you literally flip the script so you can own your mornings, therefore, you own your days. Now, I know what you're saying to me, Andy. I get it. I'd love to do that, but I've got kids to take care of in the morning. I've got pets to take care of in the morning. I get it. But here's my challenge to you. If you find time to be a little struggle for you in the morning, because you are taking care of everybody else, get up earlier. First thing you've got to do in the morning is put time there for you. So what I'm going to share with you today is the five steps that I use five things I do every morning to make sure my mind and my body are in the best position to win that day. Because if you start putting consistency to how you start your mornings, I promise you, you're going to have more successful days. You're going to be working a lot less. You're going to have less stress, less anxiety, and you're going to be a hell of a lot happier. So let me share with you the five things I do every single morning to make sure my days are as productive as and joyful as they can be. Here we go. First thing I do in the morning after I pour my cup of coffee is I hit the showers. Ice cold shower. Yeah. I want you to give it a try. Here's what I do. Turn that shower on as cold as it can be. And then I step in and I lay my iPhone right here on this counter and I set the timer for three minutes and I literally stand in that ice cold shower for three. Now, you don't need to do three minutes out of the gate, but I challenge you to start with 20 seconds. And then every time you step in the shower, every consecutive day after that, I want you to add 10 seconds a day until you get to three minutes. Sitting in that ice cold shower lights up your body. I know you're like, there's no way in hell I'm going to do that, Andy. But I want you to give it a try. I promise it is going to wake you up and it's going to energize you to do what you're about to do next. Well, now that my body is electrified after jumping out of that ice cold shower, the next thing I do is I come to bed. Yep, I come back to bed with my cup of coffee on my nightstand and I learn from the greats. You see, one thing I started 18 months ago is I started watching Gary Vee videos. If you're not familiar with who he is, Gary Vaynerchuk is a well known social media marketer. He's grown a massive brand with Vaynermedia and Gary's become a mentor of mine. Now, I've never met the man. He doesn't know who the hell I am. But every morning after I take my ice cold shower, I pop back into bed, I put these headphones on, grab my iPad and I go to YouTube and I watch Gary Vee videos. I've been doing this every day for the last 18 months. Every single day. I've watched some of his videos multiple times. But doing that day after day after day allows me to learn from him. It allows me to start changing my perspective. It has given me unbelievable ideas for my business and it has created massive success for me, both personally and professionally. So one thing I highly urge you to do with your mornings is start learning from mentors. YouTube is one of the greatest libraries we have and oh, by the way, it's free. So pick a mentor. It doesn't have to be Gary Vee, but find somebody you love, somebody you resonate with, and start learning from them. Open up YouTube. Take the video every single day in a month, three months, six months, from now, you'll be blown away by the results. So now that I'm jacked up after watching Gary Vee and getting mentored by him, I take the breath work and I do four breathing exercises that I've learned from a very close friend of mine, Dylan Ali. Now, when you think of breath work, I know where you instantly go. You think of the slow inhales and the long exhales.
But as Dylan likes to say, that's cute. No, when we're talking about breath work, we're talking about what kind of breaths you need to take. You need to be working on to light up the brain and literally electrify it. So there's four different types of breaths I work on every single morning for two minutes each. Number one, it's the breathing out.
To let all the bad juju out. Then I work on the inhale.
From there, you've got to set the spinal fluid up the spine into the brain.
And then you finish with what they call breath of fire.
And that lights up the brain and it's ready to attack the day. Well, now that my brain's on fire and it's ready to go attack the day, the next thing I do, the fourth thing is I put these headphones back on, I plug it into my iPad, I turn on some meditative music and I close my eyes and I visualize my day. I visualize what the perfect day would look like. If I have a meeting that day, I would visualize that meeting going exactly how I want it to be. If I have some cold calls or some calls to make to drive people to coaching opportunities, I envision those calls going exactly the way I want them to. If I have a big project I have to work on, I visualize what it would feel like when that project is done. You do that, you take five to ten minutes every morning, turn on some background meditation music if you need to, but just visualize what that perfect day would look like and you're actually going to be creeped out by how well your days go. You're going to be amazed at how the results that you actually get that day went exactly the way you visualize them. So give that a try. Number four is five. Ten minutes, closing your eyes and visualizing what the perfect day would look like. And now we go to the last step to make sure that your days are maximized and you are kicking them off with a kick ass mindset. Now that I've visualized the perfect day and I'm excited and I can't wait to See how that day is going to unfold. I take thought to paper and I journal what the perfect day would look like. There's three things I do every single morning when I journal. Number one, I write down three things I am grateful for. If you can't find three things to be grateful for, especially nowadays, you're in trouble. The next thing I do is I ask myself a question. How would today feel if it were completely free and easy? So, visualizing that perfect day, I want you to now take three minutes. I literally set my phone to three minute timer and I write down what the day would feel like if it were free and easy. Everything just came to me without effort, without stress. How would that day feel so literally? You're taking that visualization exercise you just did and you're now putting it on paper. Once that three minutes is up, I finish by writing down what my core principles are, the judge and jury by which I make my decisions in life. I want you to come up with your core principles. What are those things that represent you and you will never get away from? For me, it's health, gratitude, impact, consistency, and simplicity. Figure out what yours are. So take the time every day to journal those three things. Three things you're grateful for. How would today feel if it were free and easy? And then your core principles by which you live your life. You do that every single day. You put pen to paper after you've illustrated or visualized the perfect day. I promise you, once the journaling is done, you're going to be ready to rock and roll. And that, my friend, is the perfect morning. Now, it probably felt like it took a long time to get through those five steps, but if you jump in a nice cold shower for three minutes, you sit down and you watch a couple videos from your mentor, whoever that is. You work on your breathwork, you close your eyes and you visualize the perfect day. And then you put pen to paper and you write out what the perfect day would feel like. You can get that all done in a half hour. If you can't find a half hour in your morning to make sure this is locked and loaded to have the best day you'll ever have again, it's time to reevaluate where you are. So use these five steps. You don't need to do the five things I do. Figure out what your four or five things are that you can put into practice every single day to make sure the mind is ready to rock and roll. And I promise you, you will get more done in less time. You will end the days you with more positivity and you won't believe how happy you are and how little stress and anxiety you find you end up having in your life. So give it a try. Get consistent with it. Do it day after day after day and I promise you, you will be blown away by the results. Because remember, where clarity and confidence collide, action happens. Go make it happen today.
