Andy Neary breaks down three steps to selling: nail your ideal prospect, craft a message that makes them want to respond, and build a platform to share it. He argues that knowledge alone doesn't move the needle.
I had to know exactly who my ideal prospect was, because for the up until that point, I was talking to a lot of the wrong prospects. Number two, I had to build a brand message for those prospects. I had to be able to give those prospects the ability to raise their hand and say, yes, that's us. That is the problem we're struggling with. And number three, I had to have a platform to share that message far, fast and wide.
Each and every one of you has a different way to do it. You have a different process that does it. You have a different result it might create. And each and every one of you has a unique gift in selling.
Knowledge is not power.
Your ability to communicate what you know is where the power lies.
