Post From the HEART. Not For the METRICS!

Andy Neary tells business owners to stop chasing likes and comments. Post authentic stories about who you are, who you serve, and what you create. Trust and revenue follow metrics, not the other way around.

I have a really important question to ask you. If we can agree that it's imperative for businesses to be on social media today creating content to create the awareness they need to grow their business, what question do you ask yourself when you sit down to create your content? Do you say, hey, what is it I want to post that comes from my heart? What can I post that tells my story, talks about who I serve and the results I create for them? Or do you sit down and you ask yourself, what do I need to post that's going to drive the metrics, that's going to get the likes, the comments and the views? Because you need to understand that if you are purely posting for the metrics, you are nothing more than a servant to the platform. This is a short term hack that doesn't eventually lead to long term success. You need to start posting from your heart. Quit posting for the metrics. People want to hear from you. They want to know your story. They want to. You want to know what problems you solve, who you serve, the process by which you take people down to solve their problems, and the results people get when they work from you and do it in story format. Tell us your story and teach us some lessons. Don't sit there and go, ooh, I need to create the perfect content and the perfect type of format to drive the metrics. Because you may drive the engagement, the comments and the views, but my question is, are you actually driving business? You see, I know getting the engagement feels good, but you know what else feels good? Growing your revenue. So do me a favor. This week, when you sit down to create content, don't think about the metrics. Who cares about the engagement? Start posting from your heart. Tell us who you are, tell us who you serve. Tell us the results they get. Because humans want to buy from humans. They don't buy from logos on business cards, they buy from you. You see, when you create content, that tells us who you are, that allows us to get to know you, we know you, we start liking you and the closer we get to trusting you, which is what drives your business. So sit down this week, start posting content from your heart, quit posting content for the metrics and I promise if you do it, you're going to be happy and so is your business. Now go make it happen.
