Good morning. Welcome back to Friday Bullpen Session, episode seven. My name is Andy Neary, and today I want to talk to you about how you stay grounded and grateful when life's proverbial crap hits the fan. And I thought today would be no better than to have my better half, Amy, explain how she stays grounded and stays grateful through the highs and lows. And she is a master at it. So, Amy, if I've got sales professionals listening into this right now, and we know that that career is filled with highs and lows, how can somebody make sure they stay grounded, they stay level, so that the highs aren't too highs and the lows aren't too low?
Having a daily gratitude journal is the best way to do that. Whether you write it in the morning or at night. People like Tony Robbins talks about you can't have the feeling of gratitude and appreciation and another lower crappy feeling all at the same time. So if you at the beginning of your day or the end of the day, write three to five things you're grateful for that's going to help you find the things. It's super easy when life is awesome. You have lots of sales, you hit your goal, you're making bonuses, but when sales are down or you just lost another client, that is when those gratitude is so much more important because it makes you dig deeper for the little things in life that you really do truly appreciate. And it's going to change how you feel about your day. I also every morning write down three things I'm going to achieve in that day. That is starting my day. So setting myself up for what I want to happen in my day to make it an awesome, kick ass day. And by doing that, whether it happens or not, you're entering in your day with that positive mindset of how you want your day to go. Because at the end of the day, you're in control of a lot more things in your life than you ever think possible. So when you start your day saying this is how it's going to go, the likelihood it's going to happen is, is pretty darn good. There you have it, guys. If you're out there right now, it's easy in your job, your career to have highs, have lows. Every day seems to be a different day. Like Amy said, it's easy to be grateful. It's easy to feel great when things are going great. But when you're in a dry spell, you're not selling as much as you should. It's so easy to let that gratitude go because then you get desperate and you just want those short term wins. So today, go out when you end today, Friday, end of the week, I want you to write three things down that you are grateful for. Not only today, but this week. And then make that a practice you put in place every single day so you can make sure every day is a great day, no matter what the results are. Have a great weekend.
