The Real Reason Your Audience Stops Paying Attention

Casey Zeman explains why audiences lose interest: creators spread themselves too thin across platforms instead of focusing on one. Develop 10-15 core ideas that solve your audience's problems, then recycle them into short, consistent posts. Set expectations for when and where your content appears.

There's a lot of questions about after you find, after you tap in and find that audience, how do you keep your audience engaged? And here's the thing, I am bad at this. I have been bad at this in the past where, you know, my belief for keeping an audience engaged is content. Putting out content that solves a problem, reminding them that they have a problem that they need to address still. And so if I had a little bit of advice, I would say create maybe 10 to 15 ideas that really solve the problem, or answer or bring up the problem that your audience is facing and recycle those ideas over and over again through different bite sized pieces of content, whether those are videos on Instagram, whether those are images on Instagram, whether it's on Facebook. So that's one element. The other thing is create an expectation around when that content comes out and where. Because that's the biggest problem is that people want to know where you're going to be doing your thing. And you need to choose one thing. If you're doing and posting everywhere, you're basically going to, you're probably going to burn out and you're not going to be staying consistent because it's just so much to be able to post on Facebook, post on YouTube, post on Instagram, post on everywhere. But let's say you choose one medium that is your favorite medium and maybe that's like Instagram stories. You're like, that's what I'm going to go into. So tell your audience that's where to meet me every day. And then you just focus on that. You just focus on maybe daily little bits of content on a daily basis. Maybe a 60 second post that reminds them that you're there, that you're there to help them. And it doesn't take more time on your side. Remember, I have a family of three kids. I can't afford to put more time into the things I do. Right? I can't. So I have to do things on a smart way. So the best way to do it is tell your audience where you're gonna be and then just be there and make it as easy for you and for them as possible. Okay, thanks again for watching this video. I'm gonna go jump off this stone. I didn't jump off it, I just jumped on it. What am I think the guy thinking? He's more like hardcore than he is because he's not hardcore at all.
