A short excerpt from a YouTube video (created/uploaded by Charles Noonan) in which one speaker recounts working low-paid tipped jobs while commuting from Norristown to Philadelphia, being hired by Amtrak, and teaching himself about credit while in the shelter system. The second speaker praises the self-education and resilience shown.

So I got that job, and it was. I mean, it didn't really pay. I mean, I got tips. I may make $60 a day, $100 a day on a good day. But a lot of that was used through my commute, too, because I had to commute back and forth from Norristown to Philly. But it taught me something. It's like, you really gotta, like, push for what you want. Like, if you want better, you gotta get better. Eventually, I got hired at Amtrak, so Amtrak hired me, and I said, all right, it's up from here.
And that's how you began to. So you taught yourself credit while in the shelter system. That is phenomenal. Instead of just looking down and feeling down on yourself, you started to educate yourself.
Absolutely.
