A short YouTube interview clip (Charles Noonan) motivating entrepreneurs to embrace failure. The speakers emphasize that failure is inevitable, recommend failing fast and learning quickly, and argue that embracing failure makes entrepreneurs fearless; they also urge people to stop overthinking (e.g., asking how much to save or when to quit) and just take action.
What do you think that does for you when you embrace failure?
Everybody's going to fail. That's one thing. Like, if you are an entrepreneur, you're trying to do something, know that you're going to fail. I knew that I would fail. I knew that I would make mistakes, but I knew that I was not going to give up, so I would fail fast. Let me go in, you know, make mistakes, let me lose fast. Because now I'm going to, you know, I'm going to pick up the pieces and I'm going to put it together. Failure is just a part of the journey.
It makes you fearless. There's so many people that are afraid of entrepreneurship. Do you ever have people ask you questions about entrepreneurship and they ask you some of the most meaningless questions? Do you ever get that? They're like, well, well, how much money did you have to have saved up?
Yeah.
Or what made you really quit? And what. When did you decide to quit your job? And I'm like, y' all gotta stop. Right? Like, if you don't just do the thing that you're thinking about doing, you will never get there.
