Short YouTube clip (uploaded by Charles Noonan) in which multiple speakers discuss why Birmingham, Alabama is an attractive place to build real estate. Key claims: Birmingham municipalities make permitting fast and easy (permits can be issued in a day), and Alabama’s milder weather allows year-round construction compared with colder cities like Detroit or New York.

We talk about the South a lot.
You're licensed in what state?
Alabama.
Any specific.
Reason why you got your license there?
Let's talk about the city of Birmingham. First and foremost, the municipalities there, they're all aligned. They just make everything so easy for you. Pulling permits are super duper easy. So if you go to Detroit and you try to pull a permit, it may take you a few weeks. In Birmingham, you pull a permit, you can get that same permit in a day.
One of the reasons I started building in Birmingham.
I like Alabama.
Myself, is because the weather. You can build literally all year round in Michigan, the Midwest. I'm going to even say the North. I'm going to say New York City. Right. A lot of development has to stop because of the weather, because of the climate.
