A short YouTube advice video by Dominic Imwalle about genuinely building relationships on LinkedIn, illustrated through his relationship with David Mendoza. The speaker presents three core practices: (1) give relationships time to develop (his first conversation with David began in "March of last year" and he checked in every few months), (2) be authentic in both lighthearted and serious moments, and (3) create mutual value (co-creating a guide, helping with headlines, webinars, messaging). The tone is practical and conversational, ending with a call for comments and ideas.

Happy Friday. Thanks for tuning into this video once again and I appreciate all the support over the last couple weeks, whether it was liking the prescribedbydx hashtag and all my posts and giving that a follow or showing some love on the Monday videos. Now as David Mendoza and I build our guide live for young professionals. Really appreciate the support on both of those ends there. For this week's Friday video, I wanted to go ahead and jump into relationship building on LinkedIn specifically and I'm gonna use David and I's relationship as I go through the three things I wanted to cover today. The first thing is giving it time, letting it prosper over time. David and I's first conversation was in March of last year and I've just let it grow over time by continuously checking in with them every couple months, asking some questions and just being there if he needed me to answer something and just, you know, letting it go over time. I didn't demand anything up front or was a huge burden to him. The second thing I wanted to cover was being authentic. You know, now David and I are just able to jump on calls, video chats, shoot each other messages where we're just laughing, joking around. And then, you know, other times when it's serious, we're able to be ourselves in those moments and that's super important as you kind of grow your network and connect with others on LinkedIn. The last part was creating value for each other. Now David and I are building a guide together and that's a little bit more direct as we're creating value together. But, but previously David's been able to help me create a LinkedIn headline. I've been able to jump on webinars with him, LinkedIn lives, and just overall I've been able to message him with any questions I have or problems I've run into and he's been there to help me and add value to my career and my journey as well as I haven't been able to do for him. So Those are the three things that are really key in building relationships on LinkedIn, creating value, giving it time, and being authentic in the process. So, you know, use those when you're building these relationships and navigating this LinkedIn. As always, thanks for supporting this Friday video. If you have any questions, comments, ideas for next week's Friday video, leave them in the comments below. As always, have a great rest of your weekend. Happy Friday.
