A short YouTube advice video (by Dominic Imwalle) about how to give and receive LinkedIn connection requests. The speaker recommends attaching a brief personalized note when sending requests (especially to strangers), explains when he skips notes (people he already knows), describes how he treats incoming requests without notes or with sales pitches (often letting them sit), and invites viewer feedback and ideas for future videos.

Hey guys, Happy Friday. Thanks for giving this video a checkout. I hope your week is going well as always. And you know this is the fourth video, so I appreciate you giving this a look. Going strong with this for the entire year. With this video I wanted to jump into giving and receiving connection requests and how I operate and what that looks like for me. So when I'm giving or when I'm sending out a request, I try to attach a note. I always attach a note with people I don't know at all and I want to get connected with and it doesn't have to be that deep. Hey, just looking to get connected with more like minded professionals. You might see a little lull if you keep it super simple. The more you make it personable, the quicker of a response you may get. And then I definitely will say I'm guilty of not attaching a note sometimes with people that I've worked with before that I know from school or you know, that I'm working with currently. So that's when I don't usually attach a note in terms of receiving them. If it doesn't have a note, it's probably going to sit with me for a while. Sometimes I like to let them just build up and then I'll go out and message these people, hey, how are you? Why are you looking to connect? And I just, I just want to get to know so I, I have a more authentic base in my network group. And then in terms of if I get a sales pitch that's usually going to sit for a while, you know, I might take a quick look at it. But I have a couple right now in there just trying to help me with lead generation that I probably will never look at. So be careful with how you send these requests out. Be personable, add a little touch as often as you can. And I always recommend attaching a note. So this is how I kind of look at receiving and sending out connection requests. Leave your thoughts below. Again, happy Friday and if you have any other ideas for future videos, please feel free to tag them below. Thanks guys. Have a good weekend.
