A short YouTube video by Dominic Imwalle that acknowledges the job search is inherently emotional and offers two central recommendations: (1) give yourself space to acknowledge and process the emotional highs and lows, and (2) commit to concrete, repeatable job-search actions (networking with people in target roles, tailoring applications, following up, interview preparation). The speaker emphasizes persistence and quotes a favorite: "commitment is staying true to what you said you would do long after the mood you set it in has left."

Hey guys, Happy Friday. Thanks for checking out this week's Friday video. We're getting close to the end of the year, so stay tuned to these and also check out the YouTube page. I'm uploading all my Friday videos throughout the year so you guys can go in and check out some of the old ones and get those quick tips and actionable insights. Today I wanted to acknowledge that the job search is an emotional process and it's okay. And if someone says it isn't emotional, they're wrong. You're going to see high highs of getting offers and you're going to see low lows of getting rejected or ghosted. You're going to go through all these emotional experiences that are going to push and pull you as a human being. And there's two things I want to talk about today. One is that when you realize it's an emotional process and you will quickly, it's that you give yourself some space and acknowledge it. Hey, this is a tough time I'm going through and this is what I'm going to do to get through it. But give yourself time to acknowledge it and some space to really think about it. Second is commit to the action steps that you, oh no, oh so well, you've learned them. It's talking to people who are in the role you want to be in. It's tailoring that resume and cover letter. It's following up after the interview. It's preparing for an interview. Those action steps that you know and you read about all day on LinkedIn, you see them all the time. Commit to them, write them out, commit to them, write them down a piece of paper if you have to. I am going to commit to these steps in the job search. And so a quote that I really love to live by is commitment is staying true to what you said you would do what long after the mood you set it in has left. And it's one of my favorite quotes, I have it pinned up. But it's, you know, you're going to, we talked about being an emotional process. You're going to get pulled and pushed different ways and you're going to get stressed, tired, sad, annoyed. And you're also going to be happy, fulfilled. You're going to have some of these crazy experiences. Don't let those, all these experiences affect your commitment to those action steps. Get up every day, commit to those action steps, do those action steps, see them all the way through, and you're going to see some big results in your job search. Happy Friday, as always. Questions, comments, insights, below and have a great rest of your weekend, guys.
