Siapa yang bisa menyembuhkan hati kita?

In this solo Indonesian monologue, Gobind Vashdev argues that no one can truly hurt or heal our hearts; only we can, because the heart resides within us and we assign meaning to events and words. He illustrates this with examples of insults (e.g., “goblok,” “otak isinya sampah”) and explains how media (Hollywood, Bollywood, Drakor) conditions us to interpret such language as humiliation. Vashdev stresses that the reaction to any comment—positive or negative—reflects the listener’s own perspective, not the speaker’s identity. Consequently, we hold the power to decide whether an incident wounds us by the meaning we give it. If we label it negatively, we feel hurt; if we label it positively, we remain unscathed. He concludes that the only person capable of healing our heart is ourselves, and likewise, we are the only ones who can wound it.
