Short motivational talk (YouTube) by Kenny Chapman about how self-labels ("morning person"/"night owl") and the stories we tell ourselves shape our effectiveness. He urges listeners to remove limiting beliefs, focus on when they are most effective, and start each day intentionally (eyes open when feet hit the floor) as a simple mindset call-to-action.

Foreign. Are your eyes open when your feet hit the floor? Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach. Got a quick question. Now, I want you to think about this morning. When you woke up, did you open your eyes while you were laying there all comfortable and resisting the alarm, or did you just kind of roll out and eyes closed and start sloughing your way to start your day? The question is this. I don't care which one happened, but I want you to think about the mindset that you create when you tell yourself stories. What do I mean by that? A lot of people go, well, I'm a morning person or I'm a night owl. Right? We've all heard those things. Most of us have consciously put ourselves in those boxes throughout the life, right? Here's what I want you to think about. When are you the most effective? That's all that matters. It's not about being a night owl. It's not about being a morning person. Personally, I like to write in the morning. I like to shoot video in studio in the morning. I like to shoot video outside all the time because I like shooting video. That changes people, people's lives. Now, it's not about that. It's about for you. How do you categorize some people? Want to go to the gym at 5 o' clock at night and go grocery shopping at 8 or 9? That's not my thing. But that doesn't mean I'm not a night owl. Why would you categorize yourself? What about you? How do you take on life? What if you're a life person and you're certainly more effective at different times, and you set up your life, your situation and your day that way to where you win? See? Get limiting beliefs out of your mind and your mind begins to change. When your mind begins to change, your life begins to change. Am I saying your life changes as soon as you open your eyes and have your feet hit the floor? Floor. Yes. And here's your call to action. Tomorrow morning when you wake up, I want you to think about me. Are your eyes open and are you ready for the day? I'm Kenny Chapman. Until we talk, have a better than fantastic.
